More Than a Diagnosis: Introduction to Autism
This course builds a comprehensive understanding of autism and its effects on young children from a Christian perspective. Learners explore what autism is, its potential causes, and how it's identified and diagnosed, building a knowledge base for engaging confidently with children and families.
Learners examine how autism affects daily life, including cognition, sensory processing, emotional regulation, communication, daily living skills, and common co-occurring conditions.
Learners also explore interventions and treatments, including therapeutic approaches, behavioral interventions, educational strategies, and practical tools, gaining actionable knowledge for compassionate, informed care.
